Boy Scout Campout at Thousand Islands

We joined the Boy Scouts on a campout at Pulau Pelangi in the Thousand Islands.  We left in a speedboat from north Jakarta and arrived after 90 minutes or so.

The troop here is rather casual and there were few planned activities.  Anyway, we had a good time and enjoyed a beautiful island paradise for the weekend.

Family Day

The SLB spouses association hosted a family day last weekend at Arthayasa Stables.  It was nice to get out of Jakarta. The kids enjoyed riding and looking at the horses/ponies although  I thought they were very sad-looking animals.  They were so skinny and some had sores.  I don't think they are being taken care of properly...poor things.  We had a nice lunch and then the kids were able to participate in a science show.  I think overall we all had a good time.

Trip to Yogyakarta

Last month, we took a trip to Yogyakarta over a long weekend. We went to Borobudur, Prabanan, and on a Jeep ride around Merapi volcano.

Air purifier update

The Honeywell air purifier is still running strong and I even had to change the HEPA filter today.

We recently took delivery of some custom "old teak" furniture from Batavia 3.  This is likely the last of the furniture that we'll have made at this shop since it is closing its doors in January 2015.

Hike in Sentul

The cub scout pack went on a hike this morning in the mountains near Sentul. We did a 6 km hike and had a good time.

Halloween 2014

Tonight we celebrated Halloween at our apartment complex.  We had a group dinner provided by the hotel and the kids got to go trick-or-treating.  We had a great time. 

Julia spent alot of time and effort making the costumes even with the help of our basic sewing machine....  They turned out awesome!
