Sunda Kelapa Traditional Harbor
Over the weekend we decided to take the kids to visit Sunda Kelapa Harbor in North Jakarta. We wanted to see the old schooners (pinisi). The water in the harbor is very polluted. The boats are a sight to see though. They are very large and very old but still very much in operation. You can see cargo being loaded and unloaded onto the boats. We just did a driving tour of the harbor and did not actually get out since the port was very busy. We all enjoyed our tour. There was a small entrance fee to get into the harbor, but it was at most maybe 5000 rupiah. If you are headed out to North Jakarta, you might consider a short stop at the harbor. I think it is definitely worth a look.
